CLAF Outreach - 2005 Year End Report
THE CHURCH LADY AND FRIENDS OUTREACH MINISTRIES As this year is ending, I have been reflecting on what has happen with the Ministry that we have with the Homeless Shelters and for the Needy, Destitute and Homeless. We have provided 52 Sunday morning breakfasts to an estimated 100 people every week, which breaks down to feeding over 5,000 people for the year, giving them Vitamin D Milk, cereal, fruit, and bread. We have had 12 birthday parties (one for ea. month) for children who would not have had one, which breaks down to an estimated 200 children attending parties for the year and 40-50 children receiving presents who would not have had any. We provided schools supplies for 75-100 children who would not have had any when donations didn't come in from other sources. We gave out new Bibles and hundreds of tracts, which breaks down to lives being changed, people accepting Jesus and people finding the LORD, peace and forgiveness in our Chapel services. We started new Bible Studies at the Shelters where children and adults learned about Jesus and several have asked HIM into their hearts. They memorized scripture, sang songs, learned Bible stories and grew in GOD. In the hot summer we brought in cool drinks, ice cream, showed Religious movies, held Holiday Parties and generally were with the Residents. When there was a food need, clothing need, or Spiritual need we were called to help. Memorial Services were held for residents that passed away and counseling was given when asked. People have come seeking us for prayer and a listening ear and understanding heart. I am so very grateful for my volunteers who stood by my side in working with me at the Shelters and for those who have held us up in prayer and support. We all are a part of this Ministry and God sees all of us. We have reached into the Communities to help individual families with food and other needs they were facing. We also provided families with Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets and gifts to help ease their burdens, which included Bibles and stories for the children about Jesus. I am not certain where the next year will lead, but we are in need of more volunteers to help. If the Lord speaks to your heart about the Shelters and helping, please ask us what you can do. We are wanting to expand into several other areas and reach more people for CHRIST. We are a beacon of light and give hope to those who have known no hope, show love to those who feel unloved, and give Jesus Christ to those who would have been lost. What better cause is there than this - to give the Gospel message, see the lost Saved and show them Jesus. Pastor Mary Booth Lyons PS We just finished out our year with a very successful Christmas Party where we were able to help provide a very Merry Christmas with food, clothes, gloves, hats, presents, toys, treats and the love of GOD.
